With rapid advancements in technology, the global manufacturing industry is undergoing a transformative phase. Mr. Hsiao Wen-lung, President of Forwell Group, and a standing director of the Taiwan Machinery Association, emphasized that the accelerated pace of product replacement is being driven by technological developments. Manufacturing is shifting from a model of producing a single product in large quantities to one that embraces diversity and small-batch production. Consequently, enhancing production flexibility has become a top priority, and "mold & die management" plays a crucial role in achieving this objective.

According to President Hsiao, the advancements in material technology and the impact of the electric vehicle industry have contributed to the ongoing transformation in the global market. Despite facing challenges such as inflation and geopolitical tensions nowadays, the manufacturing industry remains resilient in its pursuit of innovation. To keep up with market changes, having a flexible and resilient production line is indispensable. In the rubber and plastic industry, the speed of "mold change" directly affects the production line's efficiency and flexibility.

For years, Forwell has invested significantly in developing the "Intelligent Mold Management System," which integrates the needs of metal processing and rubber and plastic injection molding industries for rapid mold changes. What used to take 4 hours for mold and die changes now takes as short as 3 minutes, thanks to the automation of the rapid mold change system. The automation extends to include mold conveying, automatic warehousing, and mold maintenance systems, achieving a seamless "intelligent automation" process for mold handling, transportation, access, storage, and maintenance.

President Hsiao emphasized that besides the advantages of improving efficiency and reducing costs, research shows that compared to traditional manufacturing relying on manual labor, automated production lines generate only half of the carbon emissions. Therefore, promoting "intelligent manufacturing" not only effectively enhances production capacity and quality but also holds significant importance for achieving long-term "carbon neutrality" goals.

In addition, FORWELL Group is currently undergoing continuous internal restructuring and implementing ESG practices. They are actively investing in the study and development of new products and market positioning. For instance, they launched the innovative TMX self-propelled mold clamp this year, which utilizes electric motors to reduce the overall length of the equipment. Moving forward, they plan to introduce new products annually and base their development and design on "carbon neutrality" standards to ensure products that meet carbon tax exemption targets, preparing for future leapfrog growth.
